These are my notes for the various pages. Until an FTP issue is resolved, I cannot effectively post these notes with their respective pages...

I've met a few people who think it would be interesting for artists to include a log of their work with the image in question. This may or may not help new artists/comickers as well.

Intro/Page 1:
--Played around with various brush/layer effects in GIMP, nothing special.
The page started out as an experimentation with brush effects and layer effects, just a random doodle one day when I was bored. It ended up looking so fitting for an intro that I ended up adding text to it and playing with transparencies and more layer effects.

Title/Page 2:
--Used Blender 3D to model and render a hexagonal crystal. Imported to GIMP and tested more brush effects to solidify the "magic" appearance.

Ch. 1 Intro/Page 3:
--More playing around; more with background gradients than with the brushes this time.

Ch. 1 Page 1/Page 4:
--First time actually using the tablet to sketch/trace/draw a page and color it. Found that drawing vertical lines is more challenging due to lack of ability to rotate the tablet like a paper can be rotated while drawing; drawing style needs adaptation to this limitation.
--Experimenting with manga appearances and such (I.E. body structure, eyes, emotion symbols like the sweatdrop, etc)
--Tested making speech bubbles in GIMP, method needs improvement
This page was drawn about six or seven months ago digitally; the paper-and-pencil versions are almost a year old.

Ch. 1 Page 2/Page 5:
--Played around a bit with poses/perspective, I like how the pose in Panel 2 came out XD --Still using the rather bad tracing. Finished not very long after the previous page; after this one I decided to find a new route for the lineart.

Ch. 1 Page 3/Page 6:
--Experimented with gradients to mimic the manga/anime conveyance of the panel's action. Also refining line style, tested using the Paths tool to get smoother lines.
--Had a hard time with the blood X(
--Used the Paths tool in conjunction with the Text tool to curve the text
--Overall a rather experiment-heavy page, several revisions were needed
